Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by Your Name, O Lord God of hosts.
Jeremiah 15:16
But His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not.
Jeremiah 20: 9
How time flies
It is already half past October
Last time I looked
It was only early September
The sunrise yesterday was quite spectacular
Imprinting itself on the clouds
A beautiful pink
As it rose from behind the trees
And I took the time
To stop
And record
And admire
And thank the Father
For the privilege of
Another beautiful morning
Today, up early and out the door
Missed my early devotions
And immediately knew
I was MISSING them
Back home,
Headfirst into to do lists
And such
Before you know it
That time that flies by
Had gone from
Midmorning
to
Midafternoon
And I was aimless
And weary
Already
With over half a to do list
remaining
And then I remembered
Words of life
Words of strength
Words of power
Digging out my Bible, notebook and pen
I took my cup of tea
And in the quiet of the afternoon
Sunlight streaming in the doorway
I took the time and
I began to read
Jeremiah says:
Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by Your Name, O Lord God of hosts.
Such truth
It is so uplifting
So energizing
Such encouragement
To open His Word
And find a Word just for me
For this time
For this situation
And in reading I was encouraged
And ready to face my to do list once again.
But then as I puttered on
I felt the need to share
To remind others of the truth of the Lord
The power in the Word
The necessity of taking the time
To sit and be in His presence
Jeremiah also says:
But His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not.
Today I had to make time
For a second time
To sit and share
On this blog
With anyone who is reading
The power of this Word
Every time I read it
It truly causes joy and rejoicing in my heart
But it also burns like a fire within me
So that I must share!
For like the beauty of the sunrise yesterday morning
That I felt compelled to share with everyone
There is a most wonderful beauty
And life
In the Word of God
That I feel compelled to share with anyone
Who might take a moment to listen.
And so today,
I remind you
Take the time
Watch the sunrise
Have the cup of tea
Slow down the day
And the hours
And above all
Sit in the Word!
He is waiting for you
even now.
Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I hope in Him!”
The LORD is good to those who wait for Him,
To the soul who seeks Him.
