What does your praise look like?

Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off.
And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? “Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Luke 17:10-19

Jesus, in his travels, met 10 men who were suffering from leprosy.
They cried out to Him for mercy and He gave them direction,
“Go, show yourselves to the priests.”
The men went in obedience.
It was, as they moved in obedience, that their leprosy was healed.
10 men cried out for mercy.
10 men were healed.
But the text says only one of the men, when he saw that he was healed, returned to Jesus and glorified Him.
Yes, Jesus had commanded them to go to the priest and show themselves (as would have been the tradition once they were healed – they moved in faith for their healing).
But sometimes, your praise has to break through your tradition.
Sometimes your praise has to stop you in your path, turn you around and cause you to fall on your face at the feet of Jesus and glorify Him, thanking Him for what He has done in your life.
Jesus recognized the unusual praise of this man;
the praise that caused him to turn back and take the time to glorify the Lord.
What kind of unusual praise do you have for the Lord today?
What tradition do you have to break through?
What path do you need to stop in the midst of and turn back around?
Jesus is calling for those who worship “in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23)
Will you be the one of the 10 today?
