This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:21-23 (NKJV)
In the beginning
In the beginning was the Word, and Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John 1: 1-5
Happy New Year!
The new year can bring with it many feelings: relief, hope, trepidation, uncertainty, joy, fear of the unknown, excitement about opportunities, and thoughts of a fresh start.
Whether you are ready to throw your arms open wide and embrace 2025, or you plan to proceed with caution, the new year is here.
As I walk into the new year, cautiously, I have decided to focus on what I know (because there are too many things I do not know).
1 -The Word (Jesus) was in the beginning with God, created all things (including me), and has brought His life and light into my darkness.
2- He is compassionate and faithful.
That is all I need to know on Day 3 of this new year.
What do you need to know today? Take a few minutes and really think about that. I believe it will help with a smoother transition into 2025.

Laurie … I love this that you wrote and totally agree and understand. Sometimes I feel like I’m being dragged up the incline of a mountain, kicking and screaming. Then, when I reach the precipice, I hurl myself off; that’s my faith, at times. This quote has meant a lot over the years:
“I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year ‘Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown’. And he replied ‘Go out into the darkness and put thy hand into the hand of God; it shall be to thee better than a light and safer than the known way.’ ” From the New Year’s message of King George VI … a prince who never thought he would be king.
Laurie, your poem has stayed with me since you posted it.
Thank-you.
It gives me permission to say similar things.
And yet your verses give me hope .
I am back to saying that “God is Big Enough”
May He keep on being your Life and Light in your complicated days,

Truth! And I love this quote you shared – I am going to write that down!
I appreciate your quote.
I have copied it to keep.
Thank-you.
What do I need to know? Hmm… I need to know that He is with me, every step I take. Knowing He is with me, will get me through all things.
Blessings!
Wonderfully written. Blessings for 2025!! Let our lights shine in the darkness of some blessed soul this year and always.
