For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth’;
Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength.
Job 37:6
Happy Snow Day!
Hoping everyone is still all tucked in safe and warm from the weather.
The snow is still falling here
Although lightly
And the wind has settled.
Hubby is out with the snowblower
And Nico is napping (he didn’t sleep well last night with the wind).
I’m finishing up my tea and devotions.
Feels like a Saturday morning.
Everyone all tucked in at home 🙂
The sun has come out bright and warm
Leaving streams of sparkles on the surface of the snow.
This morning I read about Moses and Aaron petitioning Pharaoh to let the Children of Israel free
I’m always amazed about the plans of God
How they are so much more than we can see or understand in the moment.
As a result of Moses’ request to let the Children of Israel go into the wilderness to worship their God, Pharaoh increased the burden on the Israelites stating they had too much “idle time”.
Moses cried out to the Lord:
“Lord, why have You brought trouble on this people? Why is it You have sent me?
“For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all.” Exodus 5:22-23
And the Lord answered:
“Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh. For with a strong hand he will let them go, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.”
And God spoke to Moses and said to him: “I am the LORD” Exodus 6:1-2
The Lord goes on to say that He has a plan – a plan to fulfill the promises made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; a plan to release the Children of Israel out of bondage and to deliver them into the promised land.
So even when the circumstances looked dire to Moses and the Israelites
When they could see no relief in their situation
Only a worsening of conditions
When they couldn’t see past today
“So Moses spoke thus to the children of Israel; but they did not heed Moses, because of anguish of spirit and cruel bondage.” Exodus 6:9
God still had a plan!
When the wind blows
And the snow falls
And your vision is obscured
And the roads seem impassable
When the night is dark and long
God has a plan.
My God neither slumbers or sleeps
But is at work
Day and night
Calm and storm.
And He declares, even today:
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29: 11
Go forth
Live the abundant life God has called you to
Despite the circumstances you see with your physical eyes
God has a PLAN
And it shall come forth in time!
