Quietness and Rest
For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel:
“In returning and rest you shall be saved;
In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”
Isaiah 30:15
Happy Thursday!
How the time is flying
Last time I looked it was still Monday.
It is a beautiful sunny day here – warm with a nice breeze.
Nico the kitty is happy I’m home today and has been dutifully following me around
“helping” with the housework and generally being underfoot
while keeping up a steady stream of “conversation”.
I’ve been busy packing for my trip to dance conference in beautiful Freeport, Bahamas.
This afternoon I took some time and “explored” all the blooming flowers in the yard.
I love to watch things grow!
Such a marvelous thing
And such beauty
Does the heart good.
Soon going to sit out out on the deck, in the sun, on the swing
And spend some quiet time with the Lord.
Today’s scripture is always a reminder to me
That getting things done
And checking off the to do list
Doesn’t necessarily make it a “productive” day.
Taking time to be in the Father’s presence
Taking time to “smell the flowers” – quite literally sometimes
And ensuring you are fully present in the day to day activities you are involved in
Makes for a much more “productive” and fulfilling day.
