For TheseThings I am Thankful!
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
Psalm 100:4
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
Philippians 4:6
Good morning!
What a beautiful and blessed (summer) Fall Day here in Porters Lake.
The sun is shining
Temperatures are high
Multicolored leaves sparkle in the rays of the sun
Housework is done
Kitty is curled up in a ball in a sun beam
Kitty is curled up in a ball in a sun beam
Hubby is running errands
I’ve spent the better part of the last hour working on a new dance song
Life is good!
It is that weekend when families look forward to a time of
Family, friends, food and fellowship
At some point in the weekend someone may say grace
And some families may even pause for a moment
And share they things they are thankful for.
I love that we have a dedicated weekend for “thanksgiving”
But I also believe that thanksgiving is not just a day of the year
A moment in time
or a lot of turkey
I believe that thanksgiving is a daily choice
It is a daily attitude and a lifestyle .
And today I would like to take it even further than that.
I believe that Thanksgiving is not just a daily routine of taking time to be “thankful” to some unknown force for all the things that you are blessed by.
Although I love that people are choosing to do that and thereby increasing their quality of life by fending off the negative.
I believe that Thanksgiving reaches its full potential in your life and in the lives of people around you when you know WHO you are shouting out that thanksgiving to.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1
All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
John 1:3
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
James 1:17
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9
So this thanksgiving
I would like to say that I’m thankful for many things:
THAT GOD WOKE ME UP THIS MORNING!
Family
Friends
Good health
Good job
Stable finances
Life in a wonderful country
The gift of dance
Water, in spite of the well being dry
And I would like to say very clearly that I’m thankful for a
Loving and Merciful Heavenly Father
Loving and Merciful Heavenly Father
For Jesus who shed His precious blood for me
And to the Holy Spirit that guides my life.
Have you taken time yet to consider what you are thankful for?
And Who you are thankful to?
Do you have a relationship with the Heavenly Father?
The Word says that “today is the day of salvation”!
Don’t wait a moment longer – He is a merciful and gracious Father who has a wonderful plan for your life
Take a moment,
Bow your head
And ask Jesus into your life and heart
And then thank Him for all that He has given you
And all that He has delivered you from!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!
