Back to the Beginning!

Every now and then it is good to look back
Consider where things began
What the intentions were
Where the passion came from.
And so with this blog
I’ve been thinking…..
Why did I have such passion to write at the beginning
And when did I become so busy that the passion gave way to time constraints?
And so…
I went back to the beginning
To my first blog in June of 2013
And I read with interest my first words.

Living in the valley
Becoming disillusioned with the striving for the mountaintop
While missing the blessings in the valley
And calling forth a new season of unexpected blessings and thanksgiving.

And then in December of 2013 – after about 6 months of blogging
A declaration of another new season

“This is my season to live the arms and hands open wide, twirling barefoot in the grass, head back, abandoned laughter, don’t care who is looking, kind of life”

About living with unfurled, unclenched hands
Allowing grace to come
Releasing that protective posture of clenched fists, unfurling those fingers and releasing that palm
– releasing it to open and receive grace
– releasing it to reach out to another and lift them up
– releasing it to raise up and praise the Creator
– releasing it to open up your body, spirit and mind to the possibilities of truly living
And so, even as I look back at those new seasons
I find myself in yet another new season
But in these 3 years I have learned
That although each new season is exactly that, new
The lessons learned in old seasons can be invaluable.
So in this new season I’m going back to the beginning
Back to the search for unexpected blessings
And unfurled, unclenched hands
And most of all to:

“Arms and hands open wide, twirling barefoot in the grass, head back, abandoned laughter, don’t care who is looking, kind of life”

What could be better to reignite the passion
And beat down the chains of time constraints!
