Abundance
I was listening to music as i did my ironing for the week (makes the ironing go by so much more quickly when you are singing loudly and a bit off key!) and heard the song “Abundantly” sung by Avalon. I was struck by some of the lyrics
I”m searching for a reason to hold on
but i know there’s new light with every dawn
Well peace beyond my understanding waits
through the power of the cross
Christ will give new life
Abundantly – more than i could ever know
Where amazing is so ordinary and mercy overflows
Abundantly – in love
When I open up my eyes, if I’m willing to believe
Christ will give new life
Abundantly
Abundantly, where amazing is so ordinary and mercy overflows……
As i heard those words, i thought, that’s it, that’s what i want – what a picture!
As i heard those words, i thought, that’s it, that’s what i want – what a picture!
We are called to live an abundant life. Not to just survive or get by. We are called to abundant and joyful living. Jesus said:
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have [it] more abundantly.
John 10:10
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
Philippians 4:4
The cup isn’t half empty or half full because both of these are spins on being half of what we need. The cup is actually twice as big as it needs to be and we have all that we need.
– Dobbin von Puck
This quote i found last week in the most unlikely of places, an online plumbing surplus store…..God speaks in the funniest places 🙂
This cup is abundant!!!! Bigger than life – more than we need – neither half empty or half full -ALWAYS enough!
There is abundance in hanging clothing on the line, in the new building in the back yard built with hard work and friendship, in ironing clothes for a new work week, in the flowers on the deck, in Communion during Sunday Service.

Where will you find your abundance today?
