Run with endurance

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.
Hebrews 12:1-3

Happy Monday!
Here we go again with a new week
New starts
New beginnings.
Saturday nights snow is still laying clean and fresh over the land
The sun is shining bright by times
And light lazy snowflakes are falling other times.
My tea cup is full
And the kitty is having a nap close by.
I’m in Hebrews doing my devotions these days.
So many mighty words and so much encouragement to absorb.
But for today
Monday
I thought these verses were appropriate.
Monday’s can feel a bit overwhelming
Back to work
Back to schedules
Back to the grind.
But today
This Monday
I would encourage you
To lift up your head
Lift up your eyes
And focus them on Jesus.
And in focusing your gaze on the Saviour
You can change your perspective of your circumstances.
Leave the burden and the weight of your circumstance behind
And run, toward your Lord, unencumbered and free.

Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.
Hebrews 12: 12-13

And how do we strengthen ourselves?
Like David in 1 Sam 30:6
We strengthen ourselves in the Lord.
“But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.”
By focusing our eyes on Jesus
“the author and finisher of our faith”.

Did I say Happy Monday?
Yes, I did!
Your days and your circumstances may feel chaotic and unpredictable
But let me assure you,
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.Heb 13:8
And for that I am grateful.
The anchor of my soul
And the Rock of my salvation.
I shall not be moved. Psalm 62:6
Time for a tea refill and some worship music!
A prayer for you today as you go:
Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Hebrews 13:20-21
