Garden time

Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.
John 12:24

Then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.
Deuteronomy 11:14

Happy first day of summer!
I haven’t blogged in weeks!  So much going on – so little time.
Finished one job
Started a new one
Getting ready to go to dance conference
Trying to get “yard” work accomplished in between rainy days.
And a few retreats in between.
This evening we got our garden in!
Finally…….
Hopefully the frost of a few nights ago is the last of it
And the full moon is here tonight
So……..
We should be ready to grow.
I love to plant a garden
Not because it produces so much produce
But just because I love to watch it grow

Weeds and all.
As I planted the seeds tonight I once again marveled
These tiny seeds
Minuscule really
Grow into large and beautiful plants
And bear “fruit”
Or vegetables to be exact.
Just as the seed is buried in the ground
And covered over with soil
Dying to itself, in order to produce in like kind
We seek to die to ourselves
In order to live in Christ
Bearing much “fruit” for the Kingdom.
And just as the early and latter rain come
And provide moisture for the crops
Allowing growth
We pray for the early and latter rain of the Spirit
To fall
Even now
Providing “moisture” for our spirits
That we may grow and prosper in the Lord.
That we might see your glory Lord
Even now
