Reckless Love

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1 John 3:1

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53:3-5

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.
Ephesians 1:4

The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
Zephaniah 3:17

Before I spoke a word
You were singing over me
You have been so, so good to me
Before I took a breath
You breathed your life in me
You have been so, so kind to me

The overwhelming, never-ending
Reckless love of God
It chases me down
Fight ’til I’m found
Leaves the ninety-nine
I couldn’t earn it
I don’t deserve it
Still you give yourself away

When I was your foe, still your love fought for me
You have been so, so good to me
When I felt no worth
You paid it all for me
You have been so, so kind to me

The overwhelming, never-ending
Reckless love of God
It chases me down
Fight ’til I’m found
Leaves the ninety-nine
The overwhelming, never-ending
Reckless love of God

There’s no shadow you won’t light up
Mountain you won’t climb up
Coming after me

There’s no wall you won’t kick down
No lie you won’t tear down
Coming after me

So happy to be at my blog again after such a long time!
I listened to this song on Friday evening.  Reckless Love!
And immediately, the verses at the top of the page came to my mind.

Just in the first few words I heard in my spirit “What manner of love the Father has bestowed on us”

And as I sat in silence and thought about that, I was reminded in my spirit of Isaiah – “for He was wounded for our transgression (rebellion), He was bruised for our iniquities.

The very Son of God went to the cross, even while I was still in rebellion, and gave His life, that I (and you) would be healed and made whole (in every sense of the word)!

What manner of love is this? Reckless Love!

And then I was reminded in my spirit of Ephesians and that not only am I called a child of God, and that the very Son of God gave up His life for mine, but I am chosen – chosen before the very foundation of the world!

What manner of love is this?  Reckless Love!

And furthermore the Word tells me that the Lord rejoices over me (dances over me) and sings over me with joy!

So, I am chosen before the foundation of the world, a Child of God, by the Lord who gave His life for mine, that I would be made whole. And on top of that He loves me so much He rejoices over and around me.

What manner of love is this?  Reckless Love!

Reckless Love above and beyond anything I can think or imagine
Reckless Love that fills me up to overflowing
Reckless Love that requires that the springs of living water flowing from within me are to be in turn poured out and overflowing onto those around me
Reckless Love received
Reckless Love poured out

Reckless Love calls for living so close to the Lord that you hear His voice
Reckless Love calls for spontaneity in responding to what He says, in that moment
Without fear
Without abandon
With joy!

Go forth today, this very moment and receive that Reckless Love of God
Go forth today, this very moment and pour out that Reckless Love of God!

And once again I hear the Lord say:
2017 is a shift season

A season in which we shift from allowing life to happen to us
To living an intentional life
A life in which thankfulness
Unfurled, unclenched hands
And arms and hands open wide, twirling barefoot in the grass, head back, abandoned laughter, don’t care who is looking, kind of living
Is the norm, not the exception.
A season in which, finally, Christ becomes, the center of our lives
And His plan for our lives matures and comes to fruition
As we begin to walk in obedience and faith.
