Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.

Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13

Happy Monday!
Happy 1st Monday in January and therefore the 1st Monday in 2016!
There is something to be said for 1st months of the year and 1st days of the week.
New
Beginnings
Fresh
Restart
Do Over.
I came across this verse in my devotions this morning
I thought it spoke nicely to new year’s and new starts

Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13
It brought me back to the summer
And hiking Cape Split
And the strength of the trees that stand strong in the pathway
And the flowers, although more delicate
That are strong and brave in their hardiness
And ability to “grow where they are planted”.

A 3 pronged approach for 2016
Watch
Stand fast in the faith
Be brave and strong!

Watch for the Lord
He will lead and guide you and direct your steps
He will show Himself mighty and strong for you
He will bring you into the place of intimacy and relationship behind the veil
If only you will watch!

Stand fast in the faith
Don’t be distracted and discouraged by the things you see around you
Stand fast to that which you know to be truth
For we do not live by faith in the physical world
But by what we know to be true in the spiritual world.
Stand fast and be able to offer a defense for that which you believe
And share in love.

Be brave and strong
The Lord told Joshua, “Only be strong and very courageous”
As they moved in to take the Promised Land
ONLY
Be brave and strong.
One is stronger who walks, falls and gets back up
Than one who never falls.

Where are you today
At the beginning of this new year?
Have you taken time to determine an “approach” for the year ahead?
We should never go forward blindly.
Take some time to get in the Word,
Listen for the Lord
And take His direction for you for the year.
Find a Bible verse or several that speak to your heart and spirit
Now take them and make them yours for this year.
Go forward in the might and the spirit of the Lord
Walking out His Word in your life!

Go forth in grace and love!
And live the abundant life.

I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
John 10:10
